How members rate movies
  • Members are responsible for selecting new movies (from members or non-members)
    • Three members, selected by Looking Glass at random, are e-mailed an invitation to assess the new submission
    • Each of the three members is asked to respond within two weeks
    • Each of the three members is asked to rate the submission on the scale of one (lowest) to ten (highest)
    • Each of the three members is asked to score three separate parameters
      • execution, production, craft
      • originality, creativity, imagination
      • the likelihood that the member would recommend this film to others
    • Each of the three members is asked for a written comment which can be forwarded in confidence to the submitter to explain their rating
    • If the mean rating of the three members is six out of ten or better, the submission is accepted and the movie is included in the Looking Glass guide. The submitter, if not already a member, is invited to become a member.
    • If the mean rating of the three members is five out of ten or less, the submission is rejected and the movie is not included in the Looking Glass guide. If the submitter is already a member, this rejection does not effect their membership status in any manner
  • Members are entitled to rank the movies in the Looking Glass guide
    • All members are entitled to rate (once) all movies in the Looking Glass guide
    • Members can rate the movies in the Looking Glass guide on the scale of six (lowest) to ten (highest)
    • The highest member ranked movies in the Looking Glass guide are nominated for the Alice in Paris awards
